SH SE Ayu leans into the brighter, more metallic side of the ayu pattern, with a subtle olive back giving way to a flashy, silver-scaled flank and a pale belly beneath. Rather than the softer pearl or ghost-based ayu colorways elsewhere in the catalog, this one reads as a high-flash sweetfish imitation, its silver sides throwing light with every roll of the bait.
That reflective silver flank is built for flash more than subtlety, making it a strong pick in stained water, low light, or overcast conditions where a bait needs to call fish in from a distance. Fished with the Vision Oneten SR’s shallow-running, slow-rolling action and a twitch-pause retrieve, it works well as a searching bait for ayu-feeding fish rather than a finesse, gin-clear-water presentation.
