Megabass Respect 69
YMC stands for Yellow Metallic Coach, a color first used on the original Dog-X and Vision 95 back in 2002. It builds on a silver-black base by adding a bold yellow coach-dog stripes across the shoulder and back, and this reissue reproduces the early run’s iridescent-painted back rather than the later pearl-black version. Seen face on, the yellow barring against the bright silver flank reads as a hard, flash-heavy attractor pattern, but backlit, the metallic holographic flank lets light pass through and the finish turns into something closer to a natural baitfish color.
That dual nature is the whole point: Megabass designed it for the midday high-light hours when bass start refusing lures they’ve already seen, using the flash-to-natural shift to trigger reaction bites rather than fool a fish with realism. The bright orange belly also holds up once the water turns stained or murky, making YMC worth reaching for on tough, heavily pressured big bass that have stopped responding to more realistic patterns on the Vision Oneten.
