SG Hot Shad
Megabass Respect 40

SG Hot Shad started life on the old Deep-X series and Live-X Margay, and it’s effectively the forerunner for PM Hot Shad, now a mainstay saltwater Megabass color in its own right. The “SG” stands for Super Ghost, a popular late-90s Megabass color family, and this reissue reproduces the specific shading used on the old Deep-X line — a pale pearlescent body with fluorescent orange worked in around the eye, as well as the softened chartreuse back, details that varied slightly between lure models back when it was in production.

It’s a pearlescent, see-through chartreuse rather than a solid chart, which keeps it from overpowering the way a solid chartreuse like Do-Chart or Hot Tiger can — useful in situations where those feel like too much flash. On the Vision Oneten it also disappears into the water surprisingly well when backlit, which means it holds up in bright, clear-lake conditions as well as the stained water this pearl-chartreuse style usually gets reached for.
