Megabass Respect 95
Frosted Wakasagi takes its name from Japan’s stereotypical baitfish, the wakasagi, the small pond smelt. But the real signature to this color is the “frost” in the name – painted on a matte plastic lure body that softens the usual glossy shine into a hazier, semi-translucent texture, letting light diffuse through it rather than flash off the surface. This color first appeared back in 2001 on the launch of the original Vision Oneten +1 Jr, and Megabass brought it back in 2026 as a limited Respect Series Color release, also applying it to two brand new baits; the iPX-16 and iPX-12. The Megabass production team has cited that it’s distinct from the brand’s other frosted finishes, like Frozen Hasu, which sits on a pearl base rather than the Guanium finish on Frosted Wakasagi.
That softened, light-diffusing finish is built to earn its keep across a wide range of conditions rather than one narrow situation — Megabass staff describe it as an all-around color meant for clear water and muddy water alike, with the matte Guanium base’s subdued metallic shimmer still showing through the frosted coat regardless of clarity. On the Vision Oneten it’s worth reaching for as a dependable, natural-presentation option when a bolder, flashier pattern risks spooking pressured fish, letting that muted Guanium glow do the work instead.
