The GP Double Trout is a highly technical “Secret” colorway developed by The Hook Up Tackle as a specialized evolution of the classic Trout and Rainbow Trout patterns. Utilizing the GP (Guanium Phantom) finish, this lure is designed with a specific level of translucency that allows it to disappear and reappear as it darts through the water column. The “Double” in the name refers to a unique dual-sided aesthetic – reminiscent of the original Jekyll And Hyde colorway. On the left side of GP Double Trout is a rainbow trout type color, whilst on the right side the design is more like GG Trout, but in a transparent GP style.
From a tactical perspective, the GP Double Trout was engineered specifically for the ultra-clear, high-pressure reservoirs of the American West, such as those found in Arizona and California. Because the GP finish is semi-transparent, it excels in high-light conditions where a solid-colored lure would look too fake to a wary trophy bass. The subtle rainbow iridescent hues along each flank are designed to catch the sun during the Oneten’s signature roll, mimicking the natural shimmer of a young stocker trout.
