Matcha Head

Megabass Respect 74

The Matcha Head colorway is a classic, neo-vintage pattern with deep roots in Megabass history, re-released as part of the highly anticipated “Respect Color” series. This striking, two-tone design features a distinctive moss-green or “matcha-green” head paired with a highly contrasting, flashy orange body. This combination is visually reminiscent of old-school wooden topwater plugs and was originally a custom color exclusively used on baits like the POP MAX in the mid-2000s. Its aesthetic is further enhanced by a subtle, pale gold scale pattern along the sides, which adds a classic, intricate texture that changes with the light, making it a highly collectible piece.

In terms of application, the Match Head color excels as a standout “attractor” pattern, particularly in topwater and shallow-running applications where its bold color separation is most visible. The vibrant orange body provides incredible visibility in stained or muddy water conditions, while the moss-green head offers a unique contrast that can mimic a wide array of struggling prey or simply provoke a territorial strike. Historically, it was most celebrated on topwater lures, but its aggressive visibility makes it a highly effective choice for jerkbaits like the Vision Oneten in low-light conditions, overcast days, or when trying to pull fish out of cover in off-color water.
