MFB

Megabass Respect 91

The MFB color, an acronym for Mat Fluorescent Bug, is a specialized high-visibility finish originally featured on classic models like the Vibration-X Ultra and Type-X. As a Respect Color, this iteration utilizes a vivid fluorescent yellow base that transitions into a fluorescent green shoulder gradient, topped with bold fluorescent orange “bug” patterns along the flanks. While Megabass has produced several variations of MFB over the decades – including fully opaque versions for high-impact attraction – this specific release is modelled on a technical “see-through” version. It features a semi-translucent lower half that blends a matte texture with a subtle internal glow, making it a standout artistic entry in the Respect series line-up, on a new array of Megabass models – including the Vision Oneten family.

Tactically, the MFB is engineered for maximum visual impact in low-light and high-turbidity environments. The combination of intense fluorescent pigments and a light-diffusing matte finish makes it an ideal choice for the low-visibility windows of dawn and dusk, as well as heavily stained water where standard colors often disappear. Because this version maintains a degree of transparency in the lower half of the body, it offers a more nuanced “flicker” during the retrieve compared to solid chartreuse baits. This allows anglers to maintain extreme visibility for the fish to track while providing a slightly more natural, translucent silhouette that helps trigger strikes from pressured bass in the technical reservoirs of Japan.
