Gin Tonic Tiger is a masterfully balanced clear-type evolution of the legendary Mat Tiger, and first introduced in 2016 as a specialized colorway for the POPX series. While the classic Mat Tiger relies on high-impact fluorescent paints to command attention, Gin Tonic Tiger adopts a more sophisticated, translucent appeal. It retains the iconic dark back, lime-to-yellow gradient, and tiger stripes, but replaces the opaque body with a see-through core that excels in clear water. This transparency allows the lure to harmonize with the water column, while the localized metallic hologram on the head provides a sharp, intermittent flash that mimics the natural glint of a baitfish’s gill plate.
Tactically, this color is designed to bridge the gap between aggressive attractors and naturalistic finesses. The interplay between the dark back, the translucent flanks, and the vibrant orange belly creates a powerful on-off flashing effect (blinking) as the lure rolls or darts.
