PM Dojyo

The PM Dojyo color is a highly effective, natural baitfish pattern that anchors itself in realism, making it a desirable collectible among finesse and JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) anglers. The “Dojyo” (loach) aspect denotes a mottled, bottom-dwelling aesthetic, typically featuring a blend of dark olive, brown, and tannish hues across the back and flanks, transitioning into a pale, creamy belly. A signature element of many loach-style patterns is the subtle flash — usually a muted gold or silver. This offers a perfect balance of camouflage and subtle triggering flash, valued by collectors for its tactical realism over purely aggressive patterns. Notably, this pattern has been released as a Hokkaido special or limited color (SP-C) for the Great Hunting series, further enhancing its rarity and regional collectability.

In terms of application, the PM Dojyo color, especially on a bait like the GH110 minnow, excels when fish are keying in on natural forage in murky, stained, or low-light conditions. The dark, mottled back provides excellent contrast against a cloudy sky or dark water, helping predators silhouette the lure, while the subtle belly accents target the predatory instinct. It is particularly lethal in cooler water periods like early spring or late fall when natural loach or bottom-dwelling baitfish are often a primary food source in Northern regions like Hokkaido. The best technique involves working the GH110 with a slow, erratic retrieve near structure or along drop-offs, using extended pauses and sharp twitches to simulate the stop-and-go movement of a vulnerable, bottom-foraging baitfish.
