Megabass GG Wakasagi Vision 110
Megabass Respect 15

GG Wakasagi came from Megabass founder Ito Yuki’s research into Japan’s native freshwater fish, developed alongside more niche patterns like GG Moroko and GG Kawamutsu as a standard, no-frills baitfish color. It’s named for the wakasagi, Japan’s small pond smelt, and it appeared on the PopX, Giant Dog-X, and X-70 as one of the standard silver-and-black-type colors of its era — well before wakasagi were widely recognized as a bass forage species, back when the fish was mostly something trout anglers thought about.

This reissue uses the old mottled holographic foil rather than the current version, which lets more light pass through the body and performs especially well in the clear lakes and reservoirs where wakasagi are most common. It’s worth comparing side by side with the modern GG Wakasagi if you want to see how much the finish has changed over the years, but fished on the Vision Oneten it remains a dependable match-the-hatch color for clear, smelt-holding water.
