The Komclusion Select Color, Bousou Secret (Boso Secret) is a specialized colorway born from two decades of Kanta Uemori’s experience navigating the volatile water conditions of the Boso Peninsula reservoirs, particularly Lake Kameyama. The design is inspired by the unique chocolate-colored hot spring waters of the region, which often dictate the clarity and tint of the local lakes. Uemori observed that while standard Kinkuro (gold/black) patterns were effective, they lacked a certain nuance needed for pressured fish. To solve this, he fused the reflective properties of the classic GLX gold and orange with the muted, flat textures of his Komorin Copper Shad concept. The result is a sophisticated hybrid that balances high-flash visibility with a sophisticated matte-orange undertone, allowing the lure to remain prominent yet natural in stained water.
From an application standpoint, Bousou Secret serves as a strategic conclusion to the traditional gold-and-black search bait. It is specifically engineered to excel when water quality shifts rapidly due to rainfall, mimicking the warm, earthy hues of the Kameyama ecosystem. The finish creates a specific visual rhythm – a flash of gold followed by a dull orange roll – which prevents the fish from becoming overwhelmed by excessive shine. While it was developed as a secret weapon for the technical reservoirs of Chiba, its ability to cut through tannic or muddy water has made it a versatile choice for any environment where high-contrast visibility must be paired with a subtle, organic presence.
