Megabass Respect 16
The Karakusa Tiger is a rare and visually strong color from the Megabass Respect Series, created by blending classic American color sensibilities with a distinct Japanese aesthetic. It is fundamentally a matte chartreuse-based “appeal color,” meaning it is intentionally bright and highly visible. Its striking pattern is an artistic arrangement of the standard Mat Tiger, featuring a bright green body, chartreuse sides and an orange belly, but it uniquely lacks the typical black stripes on the back. Instead, the lure is adorned with a delicate, Japanese-inspired karakusa (arabesque/vine) pattern painted in a fine gold pearl over the back and top, a meticulous detail that adds a subtle flash and artisanal touch, elevating its aesthetic appeal above a standard production color.
In terms of fishing application, the Karakusa Tiger is a high-visibility, “shock-color” pattern built for maximum appeal in stained or muddy water, or in situations requiring a strong visual presence. It is a preferred color for topwater plugs like the PopX and Griffon Zero, where its bright matte green and orange combination offers an unmistakable silhouette and strong contrast against the sky. It is particularly effective during low-light periods, such as early morning, late evening, or on heavily overcast days, as its bright, non-glossy composition is designed to draw reaction bites and help the lure stand out in the diminished light intensity that occurs in shallow, darker lakes.
