Megabass Respect 50
The Hiuo color is a highly regarded, specialized Megabass pattern designed for finesse and challenging fishing conditions, making it an excellent addition to a collector or angler’s set focused on nuanced, “match-the-hatch” aesthetics. Its name, “Hiuo,” is Japanese for ice fish or juvenile smelt/ayu, and the color beautifully captures the delicate, almost colorless nature of this young baitfish. The aesthetic is defined by its exquisite transparency and delicate flushing, often utilizing a clear base with subtle holographic or special aurora paint on the back. This finish is intentionally modest, achieving a look that gives a strong sense of life and realism in the water while avoiding the overpowering flash of metallic colors, being released in limited-edition Respect Series runs on famous lures like the Vision Oneten Jr and Karashi IGX.
Designed primarily to attack tough, high-pressure conditions, the Hiuo color excels when fish are selective or lethargic, such as during the low water temperature periods of late fall, winter, and early spring, or in ultra-clear water where transparency is a necessity. The technique most associated with Hiuo is a natural, subtle presentation — it’s a phenomenal “finesse” color. On lures like the Karashi minnow, Hiuo is used with a slow, straight retrieve to mimic a vulnerable, small baitfish, while on jerkbaits, it’s chosen for its ability to blend into the water while still offering a small flash when twitched. The transparency and faint, natural glow are critical for triggering strikes from wary bass that are feeding by sight and will reject anything that looks artificial or too loud.

Hi Danny. Megabass 110 in Hiuo is most likely limited to the reseller market now. I can see at least one on eBay, or you could monitor the ‘Megabass buy, sell, trade and collect’ group on Facebook. Adam
